Life is complicated – there is no getting around it. We do the best we can given the hand we are dealt in life. But sometimes, we make something much more complicated than it needs to be.
In an earlier post, The Shortest Distance Between Two Points is a Straight Line, I wrote about how sometimes overly intelligent people might over-think a problem and miss the simpler, more obvious answer.
Along the same lines, I just ran across a blog post about "DUH" moments. We all have them even if we don't admit it so you know what I am referring to. Read It's All in How You Look At It for some enjoyment. It is refreshing to read about someone else's (and mine in the comment section) "duh" moment.
What does this mean from a business perspective? Sometimes in an effort to find the best answer or solution, you might just miss the most obvious answer which could be right in front of your nose. It isn't productive to always over-analyze situations/problems; sometimes the right or best answer, is an easy one.
