winnerThe business world is changing in leaps and bounds. Social networking and the Internet have totally changed the way businesses are run today. The competition is fierce, brand exposure opportunities are increasing exponentially and everyone is looking for the latest and the greatest. Consumers in any industry want the most value for the least expense and minimal effort. With this in mind, when I came across a new site called SuperSizzlingSavings.com, it peaked my interest enough to see what it was all about.

Super Sizzling Savings’ message is that they are a new and innovative way to shop by “bringing sizzle back into the community”. Their target market is both the consumer and the business. For the consumer, Super Sizzling Savings offers great deals and big savings. For the business, they offer free advertising and an introduction to local shoppers. The idea behind their concept is to enhance communities by encouraging local spending and building community relations.

My first thought is that this type of shopping and advertising service is better suited to product-oriented businesses or at least ones that have fixed pricing. They currently have a barber shop, a property service company, a transportation company, a print and copy shop, and a sponsored ad for a retirement planning company. This type of service can be very helpful to the small business owner who doesn’t have a large advertising budget yet wants more brand exposure.

Super Sizzling Savings sounds like an interesting concept that might just work. The fact that they are promoting community spirit is a plus for them. Some small local business owners feel like they are losing some of their client base to competitors with higher marketing and advertising budgets.  A service such as this might help bring local spending back into the community.

If you are a small business owner, why not check out SuperSizzlingSavings.com. You have nothing to lose as you will not have any out-of-pocket expense. If you do, please let us know what you find out and how it works for your business. Do you think this company could be a winner?

  1. It probably is for small businesses in the area.
It's an American concept that would have to be adapted to Europe, Asia, the Middle East to work outside the US.
Looking at their ad made me think of when I worked in D.C. for 6 weeks and all the malls.

  2. Julie,   Thanks for sharing a great post and resource.  Super Sizzling Savings reminds me of Groupon which has a massive following because of their discounts positively exposing new and old local small business which benefit local consumers.  Though Groupon is great, they need more sizzling competition to spread more of the "win-win" mentality.  What's more is that these type of companies are teaching consumers that it's a good thing to fiscally conscientious.  It's no longer a social taboo to save a few pennies while we go about our business.  I'm on board!

  3. Julie:

I think the idea could work but I do not see how this company can monetize it enough to make a go of it.  I assume they take a percentage of the coupon.  Lots of paperwork and tracking for little payments.  It should have a button right upfront for you to enter your state or zip code to see if any deals near you.

  4. Julie the website looks newer than the concept! But maybe that too is how the internet is changing things. At first my impression was, "Gee, not many business sponsors here." But keeping in mind that speed to market is crucial today, I'd say the concept and the early adopters there could be on to something.

It was so easy to sign up for their alerts I couldn't resist.

    Thanks for this resource.

  5. Thanks Catarina for your opinion. I think it is definitely for small businesses especially designed to promote the community they reside in. Was that a positive memory of D.C? :)

  6. Thanks Keuurl :) I never heard of Groupon. Will have to check it out and pass the info onto the owner of Super Sizzling Savings. I like the idea of helping out the local small businesses who might be finding themselves left out in the cold and need the support of their local community.

  7. Hi Rob,

Yes you are right. I believe they take a small percentage from the coupon. Great suggestion about the state/zip code button. Will pass this along. Thanks for you input :)

  8. Patricia, I had the same first impression you did but everyone has to start somewhere right? Great to know that the site offers ease-of-use – a big plus in the world wide web.

    Thanks for your input.

  9. Hi! Thanks for the blog, Julie!!! And the responses! If I may… We will feature any biz, in any community, almost anywhere (that PayPal is safe)! The appropriate geographic buttons will be added as we grow. No need for them today. Plans are drawn for them, though. I will go to London in a heartbeat.
Yes, we do take a share of the coupon. My mission is to bring in the biz at an affordable price for the small business owner. Nothing up front with a small back-end is about affordable as it gets!
The first email update will be going out late next week. More advertisers are coming on board. I offer a "biz bounty" for business referrals if the intro is made by the bounty hunter and the deal completes.
Unlike Groupon, I have stayed away from the one-day-hurry-up-and-buy format, as well as the minimum number to qualify the deal. As a consumer, don't push me. I'll get there! And, I'm not going to push my friends to buy for the site's welfare… only for my friends' opportunities. No ticking clocks! Cudo's to Groupon, but not my style.
Thanks again for the blog and the comments. Dave Innis, owner, SSS

  10. Hi Julie,
I think the concept is interesting and I can see it working. I couldn't see it on their site, but do they have bammers, decals  etc that the small business can display on their websites, in their stores or businesses promoting that they are involved with the program?

  11. Hi Susan. I am not sure but I will ask Dave Innes to respond. Thanks for a really good suggestion :)

  12. I can see this working. I know many people that will not buy unless they have a coupon or discount. Those people would shop there first before looking at other companies. For small  a business   it is a good way to market without upfront money.

  13. Thanks Julia. In today’s rough economic times, you are so right. We all have to watch where we spend our hard-earned dollars and coupons/discounts are a definite help.

  14. Hey Julie.
Nice post and thanks for sharing it.
    Sounds really interesting. :)

    Thanks,
    Chintan

  15. Thanks for stopping by Chintan :)

  16. I think Dave really has a great idea and will succeed in this venture.

  17. Lisa – I tend to agree :)
