Do People Watch Videos That are 10-20 Minutes Long?

In my last post HOW Do I Actually Use Video in MY Business Caterina Alexon asked if people really watch videos that are 10-20 minutes long. My Response was: “…For profile video or a message video, that is definitely too long UNLESS it is REALLY engaging/funny/outrageous.

So today, when my mother sent me the link to a 10+ minute video and while I watched it laughing the whole way through, even watched it a second time, I thought about Catarina’s question and my response. Now this video is NOT for children and definitely for mature audiences only. But as it shows another way that video is powerful AND that the length is definitely related to the value or content of the video, I decided to share it below.

    the length of the video we should prioritized that so the viewer wont get bored,5 minutes it should be enough.but this video it made my mind clear and mde me think i should apply thin to my future work.

  4. That’s hysterical Julie. I definitely agree with Catarina about the length of videos. I have a very short attention span when it comes to watching anything that longer than 3 or 4 minutes.That doesn’t mean that videos are wasted on me though. I often forward long videos to people in my address book who I know will enjoy them (and who have more patience than me.) So, I can still contribute to making something viral while only skimming over it myself. (BTW – I watched the whole 10+ minutes if this. :) )

  7. You make me laugh Julie:-) The video’s funny and an exception to the rule, but generally speaking videos have to be short to the point.

    Actually watched a five minute video on Sherryl’s blog today, It’s a great example of how you can make people watch long videos by including a celebrity. Admittedly had never heard of her but Sherryl sold her to her readers.
