Some Insights into the “How” of using Video

video insightsYou have been hearing from me and others for quite some time now that you NEED to be using video in your brand promotion. But how and in what ways can you actually do this?

I have launched a new website called Say it With Video that includes examples of the different ways you can use video including: business profile videos, product videos, article/post videos, and motivational videos. In addition, as I have incorporated another service into my video creating arsenal, Turn Your Cherished Family Memories into Video offers some free ways to create videos that you might find helpful.

Below is a video that will show you some of the different ways you can utilize the  power of video in your small business. Pop quiz: How many times do I use the word “actually”? LOL Note to self: DON’T say “actually” more than two times. :)

  1. Hi Julie,

This does show many uses of video and sometimes it just takes a little imagination to use this medium effectively. I use ‘actually” a little too much, however I like the word. In answer to your quiz I don’t know actually.

  2. Hi Susan, “Actually” I don’t know either LOL. I just cringed when I was listening to this every time I heard it. Oh well….. I never claimed to be perfect :) As long as the video is helpful as it was intended to be, then I have accomplished my goal. I don’t see Hollywood in my future…. I see your post is about creativity too – heading over there now…

  3. I guess that with the use of the video, you can tell people what is your site all about and the products that you want to sell. This is very effective, I think. A video can describe the site that you have and it attracts viewers.

  4. Hi Ron, yes that is exactly what a business/product video is supposed to do. Many people prefer to watch than read, and if the video is catchy – it will hold their attention better. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  5. Definitely Julie. Videos can be used for a lot of purposes.

Catch is too many people produce amateur videos that make them look unprofessional. Strongly suggest people should use the services of someone like you, at least in the beginning, in order to get the benefits of marketing by video.

Also don’t understand why some sites have 10-20 minute long videos. How many people will watch them?

  6. Hi Catarina. Thanks so much for the recommendation :) I think the video length depends upon the intent of the video and the expectation of the viewer. A 10-20 minute video as a product demonstration or training is OK and I believe people will watch them because they want to understand how something works and/or they want the training. But as a profile video or a message video, that is definitely too long UNLESS it is REALLY engaging/funny/outrageous.

  7. Hi Julie…I really admired how you posted this blog to us…Now I am more familiar how to use a video for any business…It’s great that you have the tutorial here…

  8. Hi Robin, glad to be helpful. Video is the way of the future. :)

  9. That’s a very nice video that you have done. I wish I could be so creative! I think it has come to the point where customers expect or want to see a video and therefore a video really does add to the credibility of a site.

  10. Hi Lauren, Thanks for the compliment. I think we all need something compelling enough to grab and keep the attention of a visitor to our website. You should check out xtranormal and see if you can come up with something clever :) Good luck!

  11. I went over this website and I conceive you have a lot of good information, saved to my bookmarks (:.
